Burton Wagner

Funeral services for Burton Paul Wagner, 94, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Matthew Christian Church, 2144 Stokes Bridge Rd W, Bishopville, SC 29010.  Burial will follow at the Concord Community Bible Church Cemetery, 354 Old Camden Rd, Bishopville, SC 29010.  Reverend Champ Squires will officiate.  Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Christian Church.

Burton passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026.  He was born in Long Beach, CA, the son of the late Paul Walter Herbert Wagner and Rebecca Henrietta Narem Wagner.  Burton served in the United States Air Force, and then he served as a civilian electrical engineer with the Department of the Navy for 34 years.  

Burton is survived by his children, Teresa Norene Evans (Donald), of Lake Stevens, WA, Richard Paul Wagner (Vivienne), of Eastvale, CA, Charles Samuel Rainwater (Patty), of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Donald Rainwater (Angelica), of Florence, SC; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Burton was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Ann Nason Rainwater Wagner, sister Norene Ruth Chambers, and son, Kurt Alan Wagner.
